How Long Will It Take For My Site To Be Live?
Depending on my workload, your site can be up and ready for traffic in 7 to 14 days.
How Do I Pay You?
While it may be easy and convenient to just click a “Buy Now” button, JerseyGirlWebs believes that your website or blog cannot be created without a consultation. After a free consultation, you are emailed an invoice with the details and costs of your project (payable through PayPal or Credit Card).
What Do I Need For A Website?
1. You need a Domain Name*. If you’re not sure what this is, please read my page explaining what a domain name is in plain English. I recommend GoDaddy for purchasing domains.
2. You need cpanel-based Web Hosting*. For further explanation on hosting please read my page about web hosting. I recommend HostGator because they offer a lot, with good support at reasonable rates.
3. You need a search-engine-friendly, customer oriented web design so all those people who are looking for exactly what you provide can find you. I specialize in designing Web 2.0 compliant websites using WordPress Content Management Systems (CMS). This is a database driven, user friendly platform. Read more about why I use WordPress. 4. You need to promote your website and grow your business online by taking your website to the next level by building mailing lists, networking, adding content, etc. You need Local Internet Marketing!
* Keep all correspondence from these providers especially your account login information. I will need access to these accounts to get you up and running – you can always change your passwords after installation of your site.
Why Don’t You Offer Hosting?
You know the saying: Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. In my experience it is a good rule to follow with your website. You don’t want to have your developer/designer own your site! Should that developer/designer decided that he didn’t want to build Web sites any more, your domain name and the hosting account can expire, shutting down your Web site and the email accounts with it!
With my process, you own everything. The domain name, the hosting account, the site itself. When I finish your site, it’s yours. You never have to talk to me again if you don’t want to. Of course, I’ll be here if you need me =).
